Travel arrangements
Kukkolaforsen Turist och Konferens is situated 15 km north of Haparanda on the Swedish side of the border between Sweden and Finland.
Via Sweden
By air: The closest airport on the Swedish side is Luleå airport. Both SAS (www.scandinavian.net) and Nordic Air Link (www.nordicairlink.se) fly to Luleå.
By train: The closest train station is also situated in Luleå. Connex takes you there (www.connex.se).
The distance between Luleå and Kukkolaforsen is approx. 140 km. Bus transportation from Luleå airport or the railway station can be arranged for groups of travellers (talk to Helena Åkerlund). The other option is to take the airport bus from Luleå airport to Luleå bus station and continue by bus to Haparanda (www.ltnbd.se).
Via Finland
By air: The closest airport on the Finnish side is Kemi/Tornio airport and flights are operated by Finnair (www.finnair.com).
By train: The closest train station is situated in Kemi (www.vr.fi).
The distance between Kemi and Kukkolaforsen is approx. 35 km. Bus transportation can be arranged for groups of travellers (talk to Helena Åkerlund) from the airport or the railway station, the other option is to take an airport taxi to Haparanda or Kukkolaforsen.
Each participant books and administrates travel plans to Luleå or Kemi/Tornio themselves.
Talk to Helena Åkerlund about your flight/train schedules and she will assist you in organising the transportation from Luleå or Kemi/Tornio.
